Start with the honest disclaimer
Claudphic is a product company. It earns its money from a subscription product and from independent comparison media, not from selling hours. This page exists because people reasonably ask "can you do X for us?", and a company that leaves that question unanswered ends up answering it inconsistently, one email at a time.
So here is the answer, written down once. There is a short list of engagements Claudphic accepts, and a much longer list it declines. Both lists have reasons attached.
Claudphic does not do agency work, custom development, or work-for-hire of any kind. What it does accept is work that sits directly on top of its own products or its own publication — onboarding, implementation, partnerships, platform review and press.
What we accept
1. Product onboarding and attribution implementation
For businesses subscribing to Claudphic Ads, getting attribution working correctly is genuinely non-trivial. It involves connecting Google Ads and Meta accounts, mapping a real sales pipeline onto conversion stages, deciding which outcomes count as which conversion actions, and validating that the numbers flowing back to the ad platforms are the right ones.
Claudphic does this work for its own customers as part of the product relationship. It is not sold as a separate consulting engagement, and it is not offered to businesses using someone else's attribution tool. This is product support done properly, not services revenue wearing a product badge.
2. Advertiser and affiliate partnerships for the publication
Unfiltered Choice works with financial providers through affiliate programmes, and will in time sell direct advertiser placements. Providers, affiliate networks and partner managers who want to discuss inclusion, data accuracy or a correction should get in touch.
What such a conversation cannot produce is a better ranking. Scores come from the published rubric, produced before commercial terms are discussed, and directly sold placements will be labelled as advertising and sit outside the ranked comparison. That constraint is set out in full on the independence policy, and it is not negotiable at any price. Partners who find that acceptable tend to be the ones worth working with.
3. Platform, API and compliance review
Claudphic Ads depends on Google Ads API access and Meta Conversions API integration. Reviewers from those programmes, payment processors, affiliate networks and similar bodies conducting legitimacy checks are welcome to request documentation, verify company details, or ask about how data is handled.
This is a real category of request rather than a courtesy line. Platform review processes look for exactly the things this site publishes: a genuine company, a clear description of the product, a named human, and a policy explaining how conflicts and data are handled. We treat those requests as first-class.
4. Press, research and academic enquiries
Journalists writing about advertising attribution, comparison-media economics or the Indian SMB software market can reach us directly. So can researchers. We will answer questions about our own methodology and structure on the record, and we will decline to speculate about competitors we have not measured.
What we decline, and why
| Request | Answer | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Custom software development | Declined | Sells time rather than product. It is the single most common offer and the clearest strategic mistake available to us |
| White-label or rebranded builds of our product | Declined | Hides the Claudphic relationship and fragments the product into versions we cannot support |
| Marketing agency retainers | Declined | Directly conflicts with the independence our publication depends on |
| SEO or content-writing services | Declined | A company that sells ranking help cannot credibly publish independent rankings |
| Paid placement or guest posts on Unfiltered Choice | Declined | Rankings and editorial are not for sale in any form |
| Sponsored articles in the Journal | Declined | Everything published there comes from running the products. Nothing is bought |
| Staff augmentation or dedicated developers | Declined | Not a business we are in, at any margin |
| Backlink exchanges or link insertions | Declined | Manipulates the same ranking signals our publication exists to keep honest |
Why the refusals are the important half
Turning down revenue needs a reason better than taste. There are three, and they compound.
It would rewrite what the publication is. Unfiltered Choice's only real asset is trust. A reader who clicks through to the parent company and finds "we build custom web and mobile applications for clients" has just learned that an independent finance publication is run by a for-hire shop. Whether or not that is fair, it reframes the publication as a content asset built to monetise. That inference cannot be undone with a disclaimer.
It would cap what the company is worth. Services businesses are valued at a fraction of what product businesses are. A parent positioned as a development shop prices the entire group as a development shop, permanently, regardless of how the products perform.
It would consume exactly the time the products need. Every client project is a week not spent on the two things that have to work. For a single-founder company this is not a philosophical concern; it is arithmetic, and the arithmetic is unforgiving.
"Can you just build this one thing for us?" — usually well-paid, usually from someone we like, usually at a moment when the number would be genuinely useful. The answer is written down here precisely so it does not have to be re-decided on a slow month.
Development capability versus business position
Claudphic's founder builds software. Both products are designed, coded and operated in-house, with no outsourced core. That capability is real, and it is why the products can move quickly.
But capability is not position. Being able to build things is a fact about our skills; being a company that builds things for other people is a decision about our business. Claudphic has made the second decision in the negative, and the distinction belongs in the about page as context — not on the front door as an offer.
If you were looking for an agency
We would rather be useful than merely decline. If you are an Indian business trying to work out which of your advertising is producing customers, the honest first step is usually not hiring anyone — it is measuring what you already have. Claudphic Ads exists for exactly that, and the Journal explains the mechanics without requiring you to buy anything.
If you are a provider who wants to appear on Unfiltered Choice, the route is the published rubric rather than a commercial conversation. Score well and you rank well; that is the whole system, and it is the only version of it we are willing to operate.
Services position, summarised
- Claudphic is a product company and does not accept custom software development, white-label builds, staff augmentation or agency retainers.
- Accepted engagements are limited to: onboarding and attribution implementation for Claudphic Ads customers; advertiser and affiliate partnerships for Unfiltered Choice; platform, API and compliance review; and press or research enquiries.
- Paid placement, sponsored posts, link exchanges and ranking influence are declined in all forms on all Claudphic properties.
- The refusals exist because services positioning would reframe an independent publication as a monetisation asset, cap the group's valuation at services multiples, and consume the time both products require.
